Let’s talk parenting pet peeves.
Everyone has them. They might be different from parent to parent but we all know they exist.
What are mine? Let’s go there.
- WHINING. Lily has perfected this one. We’re working on it, but it’s still a daily thing. She’s 10, y’all, and I hoped it would be gone by now. NOPE. I hear it only gets worse when she’s a teen. If that’s the case, I’m moving out. I’m not even sure why she bothers because it’s not like she gets what she wants out of it. Attention? She is the youngest of three and the only girl. She’s good. I don’t get it and it’s like nails on a chalkboard.
2.KIDS PLAYING WITH THEIR FOOD. I don’t know why I hate this so much. I just know that I do. I have lost count of how many times I have told my kids to stop playing with their food. It’s gross and annoying. This leads me to…
3.PICKY EATERS. Julian gets a bit of a pass on this one due to sensory issues. He won’t even eat French fries if they have too much or too little salt on them, or if they’re slightly too cold, for example. Lily is super picky about what she will eat, so making dinner at my house is basically a crapshoot. I’m so happy Cameron will eat almost everything I make. I know my cooking isn’t the best, but kids, give Mom a break.
4.HOMEWORK. What parent actually likes homework? I don’t know of any. I hate homework with all of my soul. It takes a bunch of time, gets frustrating and all of my kids could be doing other things. Word problems are the enemy and I do not want to discuss algebra.
5.SLOW MOVERS. Cameron and Lily are not morning people. Julian is up early and loves it. As a result, they move like snails. I’m not at my best in the mornings either, but they have buses to catch and I’m not taking them to school if they miss them. (Cameron’s car line is a nightmare..no thanks)
What are your pet peeves? Let’s hear them!

Haha my brother and I were both picky eaters when we were kids, and I’m sure it drove our mom crazy.

I have two and OMG it’s a struggle and a half. I stopped cooking separate meals. Now it’s either eat what I make OR make your own. Lol

I left that off the list bc I’m sure that’s in every home with more than one kids but yes, same.

Haha, can totally relate to all of those. At homework time I co-incidentally disappear into the kitchen to cook the dinner that they will play with and make long faces over whilst whining about how they have to get up the next morning for school which is soooo boring. We’re basically ruining our kids’ lives. #ThatFridayLinky

😀 My 15 yr old was muttering under her breath (while sitting next to me at the dinner table) that she only has two more years of living here. I can’t blame her though as I felt exactly the same at her age. Shame I haven’t learnt how to be a wonderful parent though!!

I cannot choose from all these pet peeves which are so very true. I think my #1 may be slow movers. Once I am ready to go I want to actually go. 🙂
